The last week
It seems like it was just last week we as a staff were planning and preparing for the start of camp. It has been a wonderful summer full of adventure, learning, new friendships, and FUN! Here on the farm our campers have learned hands on how to feed, groom, handle, and care for all of our animals. From our youngest Barnyard Buddies to our teen Farmers in Training every camper contributes to the care and feeding of our animals each morning. Each group is assigned chores to do before doing other activities.
Orange Peppers feed a very impatient goat named Moo.
Once chores are done, campers have enjoyed making ants on a log, pizza, and ice cream. In the forest they have learned teamwork and pushing outside their comfort zone on the ropes courses. Campers have learned about bee keeping, how to make pickles, how our garden grows, tea tasting, and so much more.
Our Cooking and Climbing Teens on the low ropes course.
The best part of the week is the Friday farm show when our campers have a chance to share what they have learned with their families. Each group will do a song, skit, poster, or presentation for all the parents. The show even includes some of our farm animals.
Cheers to the last week of camp!
