SUMMER activities on the farm

Explore the Food garden.

It all begins with a seed and ends up on your dinner plate. Check out the rows of golden raspberries or an an heirloom tomato ripening in the sun. Maybe you are curious about the the garlic scapes or why the cabbage worm always seems to find it’s match. Our food gardens are grown with minimal synthetic inputs and many helping hands.

Take a wagon ride.

Ever want to check out the back forty? Hop on the tractor drawn wagon and get a behind the scenes explore a variety of farm demonstrations. Find out how managing a 93-acre property is a labor of love and food on the dinner table is really a gift.

Walk the farm paths.

Grab those walking shoes and take a stroll through the farm by foot. Witnessing the seasonal changes up close provides a new perspective on the interdependence between the natural world and our curated lands. Plus it’s great exercise!

From transportation, to preforming hard work, to companionship, the contribution of this majestic animal is unmatched.

You may think of the animals that goes “moo” when you’re pouring your glass of milk, but worldwide goats milk is consumed more widely. With yields up to 1.5 gallons per day, goats are a staple at Bowers School Farm.
