Celebrate the best our Michigan fall season has to offer. The Fall Festival brings together the most cherished farm activities, such as pumpkin picking, wagon rides, animal visits, horse rides, live music, performances, axe-throwing, food, a straw tower, crafts, games, and much more.

Adults can visit the Beer Garden (and hard cider) sponsored by Friends of Bowers Farm and Griffin Claw Brewing Company.

Pumpkin Carving Contest BHS Student Judges

We invite all Bloomfield Hills Schools students to enter for a chance to be chosen as a "Guest Judge" of the Bowers Farm Pumpkin Carving Contest. Contest participants include members of the BHS Board of Education, BHS Administration, and Bloomfield Township Officials and Organizations! Each guest judge chosen as a raffle winner will receive a complimentary four-pack of Fall Festival tickets to share with their family members. All student judges must arrive with a parent or guardian by 11:30 am and be enrolled in Bloomfield Hills Schools for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an individual registration and must be completed per child.

We are seeking volunteers for our annual Fall Festival event. We have a variety of areas in need of support including children's activities, food service, and operations.

Calling all Vendors

Join Fall Festival as a vendor to engage with over 3,000 community members throughout the event, build brand awareness, and earn revenue! To learn more about Fall Festival Vendor Info and Rules, click HERE.

We are looking for local organizations, companies, individuals, or vendors that would like to take part in our event with an exhibitor booth. Booths can include items for sale, demonstrations or a workshop. For $150 exhibitors will receive an outdoor 10x10 space for both days (tents and tables not provided). FAQs

 

Where do I park?

You'll see many signs leading you to the free parking area. Parking is on the farm property and there will be volunteers available to assist you. Parking is free.

Where does the wagon ride take you and how long is it?

You'll see signs for the pickup area and the wagon will take you around the property to view the animals grazing in the pasture. It will stop at the pumpkin patch if you choose to get off and pick a pumpkin. The wagon will bring you back to the same pick-up area. The ride takes approximately 15 minutes total. Wagon rides are included with your entry fee.

What kind of animals will we be able to visit?

The barns will be open for guests to walk through to visit our animals. We have goats, ponies, horses, sheep, a llama, pigs, rabbit and poultry. When you're on the wagon ride, you'll most likely see horses, goat and sheep grazing in the pasture. Feel free to pet the animals and ask the staff lots of questions! We just ask that you do not feed the animals anything. They're on a strict farm diet.

Do you sell pumpkins?

Yes! Plan extra time and take your pick of the best pumpkins at the Bowers Farm. Pumpkins of varying sizes will be available for purchase.


What type of clothing should I wear?

All Michiganders know our weather is ever-changing, so please dress for the forecast. Wear comfortable, casual clothing with sturdy walking shoes or sneakers for walking on dirt trails. If the forecast calls for rain, just grab your raingear and boots and still plan on coming out. You may want to wear boots or old shoes if it has rained recently as the grounds may be a little wet.

Can I bring my own food and beverages?

We sell food at the festival along with beverages. Outside food and beverages are prohibited. Smoking is also not permitted on the farm.

Are there places to sit or “hang out”?

There are picnic tables about the farm, many under tent. There are also benches about the property. You are more than welcome to use the space when you need to take a break or enjoy some fall food that we sell.

Can I reserve a table?

Since this is a public event, we cannot reserve tables.

Do you have heated spaces?

This is an outside event with tents. We do have a Farm Store which is heated.

Can I bring my dog or other pet?

For the safety of our farm animals and other visitors, we ask that you keep your family pet at home.

What are the guidelines for horse rides?

We will not be offering pony rides due to the age and health of our ponies, but we will be offering horse rides for a $5 fee. Our recommended age is 4+. Parents will not be able to walk alongside the horse to hold up their child, so the rider must be able to sit confidentaly on their own. Horse riding tickets will be available for purchase at the Admissions desk on the day of the event.

Bowers School Farm will host its 3rd Annual Scarecrow Competition!

We invite students, adults, families, and groups to put their scarecrow-making abilities to the test.  The idea is simple: develop a concept for a scarecrow, build it, and bring it to Bowers by October 1st. A sign with the name of your organization must also be included.  We will display your scarecrow during Fall Fest, where all visitors to the Farm will get to vote for their favorite scarecrow; make sure to encourage your friends and family to attend!   Be creative and use your imagination! Your entry can be traditional or “out of the box.” No political, offensive, or profane displays will be allowed. This is a community celebration! The deadline for entry is October 1st.  Make sure your entry is labeled! The entry with the most votes wins. Winners will be announced on social media!

  • 1. Make sure your scarecrow is sturdy and weather-proof.

    2. Scarecrows must be able to stand on their own or with a stake.

    3. Scarecrows may be between 4 feet and 8 feet tall.

    4. Scarecrows must be appropriate. Any political, offensive, or profane entries will not be accepted.

    5. Scarecrows can be picked up on November 1st. If not picked up, they become the property of Bowers School Farm.

    6. Bowers School Farm assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged items. Please do not add anything valuable or irreplaceable to your scarecrow.
