Global Education Team

The Global Education Team (GET) held its first Bowers/Nature Center meeting this month.  It was a wonderful way to connect with others and explore our SEL theme for this month–FEELINGS! GET meetings at Bowers take place once a month and include members from not only here at the farm, but also from the Johnson Nature Center as well. We aim to celebrate ourselves, our community, and our diversity in these meetings, as well as get to know each other better through both casual conversation and theme-driven discussion.

Reflecting on the first meeting, it was such a unique experience. The group started off with a simple, small-group overview of our individual feelings, challenges, and celebrations at that time. We then transitioned into reading the lovely picture book Watercress, and finished off with a 3-D art project with found objects from outdoors on the farm. It was a productive and inspiring time!  Our next meeting is on December 21 from 4:00-5:30–ALL are welcome! Please plan to join us! Contact amyer@bloomfield.org with any questions.
